Wanted to share my thoughts with the forum regarding tonight's game as since yesterday was such a nice day plus just prior to the start of the late games yesterday, I stepped out of character and played a 6 team 6 point teaser with Seattle, Denver, San Diego, New England, Baltimore, and Indianapolis, so I currently hold Indianapolis -1 to complete the teaser. Never even considered a parlay. If so, might have had a little trouble keeping it together tonight. Don't really play parlays hardly at all and teasers once in awhile. Unfortunately, it was only a few minutes before 4:00 p.m. EST yesterday, so I felt in inappropriate to post so late. My apologies. Now to tonight's game.
Believe that the key to tonight's game is Randy Moss. All indications are that he is out for the game tonight or at best severely restricted. Since being injured, the Viking offense has struggled significantly the last two weeks, scoring 20 against Tennessee and 13 against the Giants. All indications are that with the return of RB Onterrio Smith, head coach Mike Tice plans to try and establish the ground game against Indianapolis in an effort to shorten the game and keep the ball out of the hands of the Colts potent offense. Both teams defenses are among the worst in the league and the Colts have injuries in the secondary as well. While one may consider that perhaps this game may go Over the total, which it very well may, not sure an aerial shootout can be expected without Moss. More likely for Minnesota, at least, an attempt to run is in order. That being said, if the Colts, put up points early and widen the gap, the Vikings may be forced to try and play catch-up without their main weapon. This could result in the Colts running away with the game or the total being approached. Last, a look at each teams opponents too date shows Minnesota getting blasted by the Giants at home last week, beating a weakened Tennessee team, close wins on the road over New Orleans and Houston following a bye, barely beating Chicago, losing to Philadelphia and beating Dallas. Not a strong resume. Indianapolis meanwhile is coming off losing on the road in a payback from Kansas City, barely losing to a much improved Jacksonville team, thrashing Oakland, beating Jacksonville on the road, beating Green Bay at home, trouncing Tennessee on the road and barely losing to New England on the road to start the season. Much tougher schedule and better performances against their opponents. Don't want to sway anyone one way or the other but wanted to share my thoughts in order that they might provide some insight into the game. Best of luck to everyone tonight.
